Rise’s Role
Rise started incubating the idea of Kitchen Relaunch in the Fall of 2020 to address the issues that small businesses were facing amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. While large food chain restaurants were able to successfully re-open with the move towards takeout and delivery, and food delivery corporations saw huge growth, small mom-and-pop type businesses did not have the tools and resources to adapt. At the same time, Rise saw the huge untapped potential of young professionals and college students who were displaced from the job market and struggling with the format of online classes. Rise created Kitchen Relaunch to solve the issues facing both groups.
Rise is presently managing a micro-pilot of Kitchen Relaunch in New Haven, CT and has largely funded the pilot thus far. A pilot has also run in New York City. Moving forward, Rise is interested in scaling Kitchen Relaunch and bringing the initiative to other cities across the country with the help of outside investors.
